How to prepare for guitar lessons!

I get a lot of questions from aspiring guitarists about what they need to be prepared for guitar lessons. In this blog post I'll be sharing with you what you need to do to be prepared! 1. You need a guitar. Ok, this may sound obvious, but I get a lot of people asking me if they need to bring a guitar along to their lessons. Yes you do! I have a spare guitar for people who haven't bought one yet, but the most important way to get better at guitar is to practise outside of lessons, and you need a guitar for that! 2. You need a tuner.

If your guitar is out of tune, it's going to sound pretty nasty when you play it. Luckily you can get some really awesome free apps on your phone to tune your guitar up! I know that if you show up to your first guitar lesson with a tuner, I'll be very impressed.

3. Accessories.

There are a few accessories that you will need to get. If you play electric guitar, you'll need a lead to plug in to the amp. All guitarists need a few picks. And maybe a capo too! 4. A fresh set of strings.

If you don't know how to change your strings, don't worry - Head down to We Have Sound Guitars in Worthing Town Centre. They will happily change your strings. You don't want to turn up to lessons with rusty, dirty strings. They don't sound very nice! You'll be surprised by how much of a difference it makes getting some new ones put on your guitar! So hopefully, this gives you a good idea of how to prepare for your first guitar lesson.
